Winter Strength Training Plan

I think most of you will agree that its tough squeezing in the outdoor workouts during the winter months.

As an avid cyclist and runner, I take the winter months and focus on strength training and building muscle. Adding a few extra strength training workouts each week keeps my fitness level strong. I want to be ready when the sun comes out and we’re back to outdoor activities, races, and adventures. I have lead cycling group rides for years. There’s always a small part of our group that rides all winter. The other half disappears because they don’t like the cold. Who can blame them? When spring comes along, you can always tell those who went dark through the wintertime because they have work really hard at getting back into the groove.

I created a three month winter workout plan that I use at home to stay fit and I want to share it with you. It will help you at any point in your fitness journey. You don’t need weights and you can level up or keep it low impact. I made it easy enough to add to your current activity. The plan is progressive. We start slow the first month to avoid injury. The second month focuses on building muscle and stamina. The third month is designed to get you ready for your outdoor activities by honing your fast twitch muscle fibers.

You may have to do an internet search on the names of the specific exercises and watch videos or use pictures to ensure you are nailing proper form. My goal is to add a video library for you to use as I move through the workouts myself and plan to have it available next year.

I have attached the first month for you to download. I’ve also included some helpful hints and recommendations on the first page.

You will need to set aside 20-40 minutes, three days a week and complete the plan. If you enjoy the first month and notice a difference in your fitness, I’d like to take 20 minutes and talk with you about your results. Once we discuss your thoughts on the plan, I’d like to hear one goal you have for 2021. After that, I’ll email you the remaining two months of workouts.

Click the link below to book a 20-minute call with me anytime. You don’t have to wait until you finish the first month of the plan. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have.
