Do You Need a Customized Approach to Your Training?
You're in good company. Many athletes need expert guidance to navigate the flood of information available online and apply it effectively and consistently to their training. Brian understands that everyone's abilities and readiness levels are different. That's why he personalizes everything not only to your fitness level but also to the race or event you are training for, ensuring you stay motivated and committed without feeling overwhelmed.
ONE LIFE COACHING PROCESS
Four Core Elements
vision
You need a clear vision to stay focused and motivated. It guides your efforts toward reaching your fitness and race day goals. We work together to set this vision from the start and we will lean on it as your training progresses.
habits
Your training will thrive on good habits. You will need to make healthy actions automatic & build consistency if you want to win. Brian will help you develop these habits gradually to support your training and make them achievable so life doesn't get in the way of you being ready at the start line.
planning
You need a plan to establish your training habits successfully. It helps you set achievable goals, prepare for challenges, and create a structured approach to make the habits stick. Brian will guide you through this planning step-by-step and support you with a custom plan through Training Peaks. This ensures that your plan is manageable and not overwhelming.
Mental
Toughness
To excel, you must have robust mental toughness. Your thoughts shape your feelings, actions, and ultimately, your results. Today's outcomes directly stem from your thoughts. Brian helps people learn to "embrace the suck" on race day.
NUTRITION
Keeping up with good nutrition can be tough, especially with a busy training schedule.
In the Coaching Membership, Brian focuses on nutrition as key for success. He helps you fuel your body properly to perform your best throughout training & on race day.
Key Focus Areas:
-
Nutrient-Rich Foods: Identify foods that optimize your athletic performance.
-
Portion Management: Learn appropriate food quantities to support your training regimen.
-
Strategic Timing: Understand when to eat for sustained energy and efficient recovery.
-
Dietary Approaches: Evaluate the pros and cons of different diets tailored to athlete needs.
-
Pre-Event Preparation: Plan meals in advance to ensure optimal performance during competitions.
-
Meal Prep Techniques: Master strategies for preparing nutritious meals ahead of time, preventing reliance on quick, less healthy options.
-
On-the-Go Nutrition: Discover practical methods for maintaining a balanced diet amidst a busy schedule.
"Tweak don't overhaul"
Preparing for a race or athletic event requires dedication in multiple areas: training, nutrition, hydration, rest, sleep, and recovery. While many focus solely on training, success demands a holistic approach. This commitment involves lasting lifestyle changes with balanced dedication. Brian promotes a gradual adjustment strategy, encouraging athletes to integrate changes gradually for sustainable performance enhancement.
Nathan
Coaching was a game changer for me. I was able to implement strategic planning on nutrition, recovery, zone training, AND race pacing! There is no way I could have juggled all of this without a coach!
Clay
Coach Brian is a top level coach. He was able to work within my available time to help me achieve my running goals. I was able to confidently complete my first Ultra Marathon with his help. Not only did his training plan help guide me but the wisdom and knowledge he shared with me was invaluable. He knew when to push me and when to hold me back. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone that is serious about hitting their goals.
Bill
Brian doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk and covers everything from the physical and mental sides of training, to helping with advice on diet, equipment and recovery. Working with Brian has helped build confidence in what's possible and I have seen great gains in power and speed!
